Origins & Us

Speciality coffee can only exist through the dedication of the people who have made it their life’s work to continually make quality their highest priority. This is not the work of only one person in the lifecycle of a coffee bean; specialty can only occur when all of those involved in the coffee value chain work in harmony and maintain a keen focus on standards and excellence from start to finish. We source the best high scoring single origin beans from small sustainable growers, carefully handroast it in small batches, & hand-pack the whole-beans to ensure peak freshness. We provide full support from machine to bean, ensuring that the consumer receives the highest quality speciality experience.

Sustainability

Sustainability

We are proud to source our beans from small farmers & their micro-lots, who are conscientious about their product, their employees, their communities, & their environments.

Our packaging is recyclable, along with beans in our coffees being Rain Forest Alliance Certified.

Join us on our mission for sustainability by shopping our reusable cups, helping to reduce over 22,000 single use coffee cups being binned every hour in Ireland.

We are proud verified Gold members of Origin Green – the worlds’ only national food and drink sustainability programme, enabling the industry to set and achieve measurable sustainability targets that respect the environment and serve local communities more effectively.

Our Brand

The ‘origins’ logomark is derived from its process.

It takes it’s meaning from the 15 steps from planting to drinking.

Planting | Harvesting & Picking | Sorting/Selecting | Pulping | Fermenting | Drying | Sorting | Milling | Grading/Cupping | Distributing | Roasting | Packaging | Grinding | Brewing | Drinking

Each segment is divided into four parts. These parts represent the time needed from planting to cup – 3 to 4 years.

The logo builds from the outside in to create the letter ‘O’. The result is a subtle swirl or stirring effect of the coffee representing all the stages from planting to cup.

The device can be looked at in a number of ways – as a burst of flavour, the swirling of coffee, or tracing back each step to it’s origin.
